Juneteenth 2024: Thank you, volunteers!

Despite blazing hot temperatures, Juneteenth in Western Orange County was a joyous celebration for the Middletown NAACP! We are deeply grateful to everyone who volunteered. With your help, we were present at three different events in our region.

  • In Middletown, the NAACP was on site at Sadie’s Books and Beverages as they hosted their Black Wall Street Popup Market, and then at the festival celebration in Degnan Square.
  • In Walden, volunteers staffed a table at the SPOMA Committee’s Juneteenth Celebration in Wooster Grove.
  • We were also at the Crystal Run Mall for their Juneteenth celebration, where our Education Committee distributed more than 50 free books to children and families.

At the end of the day we were able to speak with dozens of registered voters, and signed up nearly one hundred new supporters to our contact list. Thank you again to everyone who helped us properly honor this important day!
